According to data released on Wednesday by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of infected people has now reached 62,25,764. In the last 24 hours, 86,428 patients have recovered, with which the number of coronas freed has increased to 51,87,826. The number of active cases has decreased by 7,135 due to the higher number of healthy people than the infected and now it has been reduced to 9,4,0,441. During the last 24 hours, 1,179 patients died due to which the number of people who lost their lives to the infection has risen to 97,497. The number of active cases in the country has been reduced to 15.11 percent and the death rate to 1.57 percent, while the rate of getting rid of the disease has gone up to 83.33 percent.
Maharashtra, the worst affected by the Corona epidemic, has reduced by 4,666 cases to 2,680,789 during the last 24 hours, while the death toll has risen to 36,181 with 43,000 deaths. During this period, 19,212 people became infection free, which increased the number of healthy people to 10,69,159.
The number of patients has increased by 3,689 during the last 24 hours in the southern state of Karnataka and the state now has 1,07,756 active cases. The death toll in the state has reached 8,777 and so far 4,76,378 people have recovered. In Andhra Pradesh, the number of active cases dropped to 59,435 during this period with a decrease of 3,681 patients. So far 5,78,000 people have died in the state.
