New Delhi. The Modi government at the Center has planned to sell the assets of two public sector telecom companies BSNL and MTNL to raise money. A list of assets worth Rs 970 crore of these companies has been published.

According to documents uploaded on the website of the Department of Investment and Public Assessment Management (DIPAM), the property has been put up for sale at a reserve price of Rs 970 crore. The property is located in Goregaon, Mumbai.

The assets of BSNL in Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Bhavnagar and Kolkata are around Rs 660 crore while that of MTNL in Vasari Hill of Goregaon is Rs 310 crore. According to the Chairman and Managing Director of BSNL, the first phase of raising funds from the assets of BSNL and MTNL is underway. Bids were invited for the sale of both the telecom assets. The process will be completed in one and a half months.
