New Delhi. The current threat of a third Covid wave has led to the postponement of Auto Expo 2022. The motor show which was originally scheduled to be held from February 2-9, 2022 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, has been postponed.
“The show’s organizer – Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers – said that the exact date for the next edition of Auto Expo – The Motor Show will be decided later this year.”
“The safety of exhibitors, visitors and all stakeholders involved in and attending the expo is a top priority for SIAM.”
It is in this context that the Indian automobile industry and SIAM recognize the risks inherent in organizing the Auto Expo due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and fears of a possible third wave.
“No one knows how COVID-19 will develop in the coming months and also a major time span of a year will be required to organize the Auto Expo,” he added.
“The magnitude of the risk of transmission is very high at B2C shows like Auto Expo, which have large crowds and it will be difficult to maintain social distancing.”
“The exact date for the next edition of ‘Auto Expo – The Motor Show’ will be finalized later this year keeping in mind the COVID situation and along with the OICA calendar of global auto shows.” (IANS)
