Mumbai . Two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto has lost 33 per cent due to economic losses from Kovid-19. Bajaj said on Monday that the total sales of its vehicles in the month of July decreased by 33 percent to 2,55,832 units as compared to the same month last year. The company sold a total of 3,81,530 vehicles a year ago in July.
Bajaj sold 1,58,976 vehicles in the domestic market in July 2020, compared to 2,05,470 vehicles sold in the domestic market a year earlier. Thus it recorded a decline of 23 percent.
In July, the company’s vehicle exports fell by 45 percent to 96,856 units. In July last year, Bajaj exported 1,76,060 vehicles.
The company’s two-wheeler sales totaled 2,38,558 units. It has registered a decline of 26 percent over the previous year. In July last year, the company sold 3,22,210 two-wheelers.
The company said that its commercial vehicles sales during the month under review stood at 17,276 units as against 59,320 commercial vehicles sold in July last year. The decline was 71 percent. (IANS)
