New Delhi: Members of the Indian cricket team going to England can gather in Mumbai to stay in the Quarantine on 19 or 24 May. The Indian team has to leave for England on June from the charter plane. Before this, the team has to be in Quarantine. It was discussed that the players will reach Mumbai on 19 May to complete a two-week quarantine period. But it is understood that the Indian Cricket Board is also giving an option that players come to Mumbai on May 24 and stay in a quarantine for a week at the hotel.
A source said, "Two dates have been discussed and a final decision in this regard will be taken in the next few days." The team has to leave from the charter plane and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can arrange testing in the players’ homes.
England has kept India in the red list due to Corona being affected, in such a situation, Indian players and staff will have to stay in Quarantine for 10 days even after reaching England. During his stay in Quarantin, his corona tests will also be done. After completing the quarantine period and passing the test, the Virat Kohli-led team will get a chance to practice for four days against New Zealand in view of the final match of the World Test Championship from June 18.
After the final match of the World Test Championship, the team will be there for more than a month without any match. The five-match Test series between India and England is to be held from August 4. According to the plan, the team will play two four-day intra-team matches and due to Corona restrictions, they will not be able to play practice matches with the county team. The venue for the intra-team match will be announced soon.
