50 percent crop of onion damaged due to rain

But, due to heavy rains in all these states, 50 percent of the crop was damaged. Along with this, the rains have also affected the quality of old onion stocks in Maharashtra and Nashik. However, in order to increase the supply of onions and curb prices in the festive season, the central government has relaxed the import rules two days in advance. Along with this, to curb prices, it has also decided to supply more onion market than buffer stock.
