New Delhi: A top official of the ICMR said on Tuesday that the person could become infected again if the body is deficient in five months after recovering from the corona virus. The officer appealed to people to apply masks and follow proper behavior to prevent infection.
Balaram Bhargava, director of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), said, “We are seeing data on how many people got infected, recovered and then infected.” Generally we know that anti-bodies stay in the body for three to five months. He said in response to a question in the press conference, the CDC has said that if a person becomes infected again after 9 days, you call it a re-infection. We are looking at the figures accordingly. We will show it to you when it is available to us.
He said that some studies show that anti-bodies remain in the body for three months while some say it lasts for five months. Bhargava said that this is a new disease, so there is limited information. If a person’s body is deficient in anti-infection within five months after recovering from the infection, it is feared to be infected with Kovid-19 again. (Agency)
