New Delhi. On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the stock market, currency and derivative markets will remain closed for business on Friday. Significantly, the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated on Dalal Street and across the country.

However, the commodity market will remain closed for trading in the morning session on account of Ganesh Chaturthi. But, will remain open for evening trading. Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE), both the major exchanges of the stock market, will now open for trading on Monday, September 13, after today’s holiday.

It is noteworthy that on Thursday, the last trading day of the week, the stock market closed with gains after the day’s volatility. BSE’s key index Sensex closed at 58,305.07, up 54.81 points (0.09 per cent), while Nifty gained 15.75 points (0.09 per cent) to close at 17,369.25.
