new Delhi. As per the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, the Central Employees are waiting for an increase in salary. Now they can get a good news soon because the central government has decided on dearness allowance of central employees.
There is a possibility of increase in DA after June next year. In July next year it may increase by four per cent. According to media reports, if the dearness allowance is increased at the rate of four per cent, it will directly benefit about 50 lakh central employees and 61 lakh pensioners.
Presently, the government has frozen the increase in allowance for the corona virus epidemic till June 2021. Employees are being paid 17 percent of the previous rate. Dearness allowance for central employees and pensioners will not increase this year.
In March, the government increased the DA of central employees by four percent. However, in April, the government decided to implement it from June 2021 citing the epidemic.
Earlier it was reported that the government may increase the dearness allowance before Diwali and make the base year 2016. This would have directly increased the salaries of central employees, as their dearness allowance depended on the calculation of CPI-IW.
