Kolkata: Sourav Ganguly, who led the Indian team in the cricket field, is seen showing his leadership ability even outside the ground. At a time when the country is grappling with the second wave of Corona, former Indian captain and now BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has donated 50 oxygen concentrators to various hospitals and NGOs in Kolkata.
Since Saturday, Sourav Ganguly’s team is visiting the government hospitals of Kolkata and donating oxygen concentrator. On Saturday afternoon, Team Sourav Ganguly visited the Vidyasagar Hospital in Behala and donated two oxygen concentrators. Tania Bhattacharya from Sourav Ganguly’s office told ABP Live Bengali, ‘Dada has bought 50 oxygen concentrators from a company and we have started distributing them. Since the partial lockdown is going to start from Sunday, we are trying to reach more and more hospitals by Saturday evening. We are distributing 50 oxygen concentrators on behalf of Dada. Later we will donate more concentrators. ‘
Team Sourav Ganguly has donated an oxygen concentrator to an oxygen parlor in Rajarhat. Two concentrators have been sent for oxygen on wheel project at Chinsurah in Hooghly district. NGO working for Kovid infected seniors living alone in Kolkata has also been provided with oxygen concentrators by Team Sourav Ganguly.
Sourav had a mild heart attack a few months back and had to undergo angioplasty. Therefore, he himself cannot go everywhere for help and hence is sending his team everywhere. Sourav Ganguly says, ‘We have to come forward and ensure that every infected gets proper treatment. We will do our best in this trying time. ‘
