Festival Season: Increase in online sales this year, e-commerce companies sold products worth Rs 22,000 crore in 5 days

new Delhi. In the festival season, e-commerce companies have sold goods worth $ 3.1 billion in five days. This has been estimated in a report released on Wednesday by Redseer Consulting. Redseer had estimated the first round festive sale of Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal to be $ 4 billion. This figure is 77 percent of Redseer’s estimate.

“From 15 to 19 October 2020, the online festival sale has started well,” Redseer said. In about 4.5 days, e-commerce companies have sold products worth $ 3.1 billion or Rs 22,000 crore. ”The report said that the first few days of online sales have been better this year compared to last year.

Redseer said there are several reasons why online sales remain strong. One is getting cheaper goods online and the mobile phone segment is performing quite well. Apart from this, demand from second tier cities has been good.

Flipkart’s annual ‘The Billion Days’ sale has started on 16 October. It ends on October 21. Mintra’s ‘Big Fashion Festival’ is held from 16 to 22 October. Amazon’s ‘Great Indian Festival’ sale has started on October 17 and will run for a month.

Earlier, Amazon India said that 1.1 lakh sellers have received orders during the first 48 hours of the sale on its platform. However, no e-commerce company has given the figures for the orders received during the sale.
