Finance Minister gave a befitting reply to the criticism of the National Monetization Plan

New Delhi. There is a series of allegations and counter-allegations between the Modi government at the Center and the opposition regarding the National Monetization Pipeline (NMP). Meanwhile, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday gave a befitting reply to the Congress, defending the NMP scheme. He said that our government is committed to the interest of the country and transparency, but working stealthily is the style of Congress.

The Finance Minister tweeted that our government is committed to forward thinking, pro-people reforms, which is working with conviction. Working stealthily and secretly is the deceitful style of Congress. Sitharaman said that this government does not compromise with transparency and national interest.

It is noteworthy that the Finance Minister had recently announced the National Monetization Pipeline Scheme of Rs 6 lakh crore. Through this, assets will be monetized in different infrastructure sectors like railways, electricity to roads. Due to this, other opposition parties including the main opposition Congress are criticizing the NMP scheme. These parties allege that the Modi government wants to sell the country’s valuable assets to private companies.
