New Delhi. Income Tax Department has launched new e-filing portal ‘e-Filing 2.0’. According to the Directorate of Income Tax, now ITR can be filed on the portal www.incometax.gov.in. Earlier ITR was filed on the official website of Income Tax Department http://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. The Income Tax Department had closed the online ITR filing facility from June 1 to 6.

Mobile app will start from June 18
The new website of Income Tax Department has started from June 7, 2021 but the tax payment system will be started after the date of installment of advanced tax on June 18. Apart from this, the facility of mobile app being given for the first time will also be started from June 18. With this, taxpayers will be able to do tax related work on the app as well.
These will be important features in the new portal of Income Tax Department
The new web portal of the Income Tax Department will be able to process Income Tax Returns (ITR) instantly, so that the refund of taxpayers can be issued quickly.
All the interactions and upload or pending actions will be visible on a single dashboard so that the taxpayer can complete them.
Free ITR preparation software will be available both online and offline on the portal with interactive questions. So that taxpayers can easily file their ITR even if they are not aware of the tax.
All the information will be prefilled on the new portal of Income Tax Department, which will greatly reduce the data entry work of the taxpayers.

There will be a new call center to help the candidates, so that their questions will be answered immediately. Along with this, things like tutorials, videos and chatbots and live agents will also be in it.
-All major portal functions available on the desktop will also be available on the mobile app, with full access to the mobile network.
A new online tax payment system will be implemented on the portal, in which many new payment options will be given. In particular, there will be payment options like Netbanking, UPI, Credit Card, RTGS and NEFT. So that, taxpayers will be able to pay their tax from any bank.
It is noteworthy that the Income Tax Department had closed the facility of online ITR filing for the last one week from 1st to 6th June, 2021. Directorate of Income Tax gave it a late night launch on 7 June.
