IND vs SL: What is the reason for sending Ravindra Jadeja to the top order? Captain Rohit told the strategy

In the first match of the T20 series between India-Sri Lanka (IND vs SL), all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja came out to bat at number four. However, only four balls could come to his side. He returned unbeaten after scoring three runs. After the match, when captain Rohit Sharma was asked the reason for sending Ravindra Jadeja to the top order, he answered it in detail.

Rohit said, ‘We want a lot more from him and that’s why he was sent to bat in the upper order. You will see this in future as well. I want him to bat in the top order. He can bat depending on the situation. So we guys will try this and see if we can promote him to bat or not. We are very clear about what we want from him in white ball cricket.

It is worth noting that Ravindra Jadeja is able to bat better along with bowling. He has completed 2-2 thousand runs in both Test and ODI formats. His average in both these formats is above 32. He has scored a total of 30 half-centuries.

Jadeja was out of the team against South Africa and West Indies
Ravindra Jadeja was out of Team India’s tour of South Africa and the home series against Windies. He was injured during the match against New Zealand after the T20 World Cup last year. Since then he was running out of the team. Due to injury, he could not be a part of the Test and ODI series against South Africa and then the ODI and T20 series against West Indies.
