India Enters Finals: India’s Kamalpreet Kaur has made history by making history in the discus throw event of Tokyo Olympics. Kamalpreet Kaur has now become a strong contender for the medal in this event by scoring 64 meters in her third attempt in the qualification round of Group B. Kamalpreet Kaur’s best performance in discus throw is 66.59 meters, which she made at the Indian Grand Prix held in Patiala in June. Now if she succeeds in repeating her best performance in the final, then she is sure to win the medal.

At the same time, the challenge of India’s Seema Poonia involved in this event is over. Seema Poonia could not qualify for the final. Seema Poonia finished 16th in the Group A qualification round and ended her journey at the Tokyo Olympics.

Kamalpreet Kaur finished second in Group B

Kamalpreet Kaur finished second in Group B. He achieved a score of 60.25 meters in his first attempt. After this, in his second attempt, he achieved a score of 63.97 meters. However, in her third attempt, Kamalpreet Kaur scored 64 meters and finished second in Group B.

Kamalpreet Kaur will now go down to win a medal in the final of discus throw to be held on August 2. If she succeeds in this, she will become the first Indian woman to win a medal in athletics at the Olympics.
