new Delhi: In the year 2020, the Indian Premier League was organized for the cricket loving masses of India in the UAE, away from India. Amidst all the apprehensions, the IPL was organized in a very successful manner. In view of the situation of Kovid-19 in India, the BCCI had taken this decision, but now the condition of corona infection in India is much improved and due to this the board is now committed to organize IPL season 2021 in India itself.
Cricket fans are keen on organizing the 14th season of the IPL. According to a report by ‘Inside Sport’, IPL 2021 can be organized from April 11. However, the final decision will be taken by the IPL Governing Council. According to a BCCI official, the cricket series between India and England will end in March and the 14th season of IPL will be held after that. In the meantime, the players of Team India will also get a break. The final match will be played on 5 or 6 June.
BCCI Treasurer Arun Singh Dhumal had said that the IPL should be organized in India this time and we are working on it and we are confident that we will be able to organize it in our country. At this time, we are not thinking about organizing IPL elsewhere or its backup. At this time India is safer than UAE. The status of Kovid-19 in India is stable and it is expected that the situation will improve further.
Thoughts on Venue names
The BCCI has also considered the names of the venue for the IPL 2021 event. It has Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, DY Patil Stadium and Reliance Cricket Stadium in Navi Mumbai. At the same time, Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium located in Pune is also in the list. Apart from this, Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad can host knockout matches.
