IPL 2021: Sehwag praised Prithvi Shaw for the stormy innings, said – I could not hit 6 fours in one over, you did it

Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw hit the fastest half-century of IPL 2021, chasing a target of 155 against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday. He scored 82 runs in 41 balls and Delhi’s team won by seven wickets and reached the second place in the table.

Prithvi gave Delhi a great start in the match. Shaw hit six consecutive fours off Shivam Mavi’s balls in the opening over. Interestingly, he is the second batsman to do so in the history of IPL after Ajinkya Rahane.

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag was very impressed with this performance of Prithvi. In a conversation with Cricbuzz, Sehwag said that when I used to oppose during my playing days, I used to think of hitting all six balls fours but could not do so. Prithvi has done this against KKR.

I could only score a maximum of 18 -20 runs in an over – Sehwag
Sehwag said, “Putting six fours on all six balls means playing every ball with a perfect gap, which is not easy. I have opened in my career and thought of smashing all six balls many times but I got a maximum of 18 or 20 runs. I could not hit six fours or six sixes. For this, your timing must be correct. ”

Salute to Prithvi Shaw for a brilliant innings
Sehwag said that Prithvi Shaw did excellent batting. He did not look as if he had come to play the match or maybe by playing with Shivam Mavi in the under-19 team, he knew where the bowler would actually bowl. I have batted many times in the nets, home matches against Ashish Nehra, but have not been able to hit six fours or fours in one over. Salute to Prithvi Shaw for his brilliant innings. Sehwag said that it would have been even better if Prithvi Shaw had scored a century.
