IPL 2021: Steve Smith’s befitting reply to Michael Clarke’s comment, releasing a video

Australian batsman Steve Smith has said that he is excited to join his new franchise team – Delhi Capitals for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season. Delhi Capitals bought Rajasthan Royals and former Australia captain Smith for Rs 2.20 crore in the players’ auction held in Chennai for the IPL 2021 season.

Smith’s base price was two crore rupees. At the base price, Royal Challengers Bangalore made the first bid, after which Delhi Capitals bought 20 lakh more for Rs 2.20 crore. The Delhi team played the final in the last season.

Delhi Capitals has posted a video on social media, in which Smith said, “This year I am really excited to join the team. I think it is a team adorned with good players and coaches and I want to join them I am desperate for it. I want to add some memories with the team. I hope the team performs better last year as well. “

In IPL 13, Smith played as a captain for the Rajasthan Royals, but for the new season, the club released him and made Sanju Samson the captain. By this, former Australia captain Michael Clarke had indicated that Smith could withdraw from the league citing injury after receiving a lower price in the IPL-2021 auction.

Clarke said in the Big Sports Breakfast Podcast, “I know his performance in T20 has not been very special, the previous IPL was not good, but I am surprised at what rate he has sold.” He had said, “But the price he was playing last year and the role he was in. He was the captain of Rajasthan Royals, so if he gets hamstring before leaving for India, then I wonder Won’t happen. ” Smith scored 311 runs in 14 matches in the 13th season of IPL, with three half-centuries.
