Know why Jadeja-Ashwin pair will prove to be important in WTC final

World Test Championship 2021 Final: The final match of the ICC World Test Championship will be played between New Zealand and India from June 18. The play of Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin in the final match is absolutely certain. Opening great Sunil Gavaskar believes that it would be beneficial to have Jadeja and Ashwin in the team as it will help the spinners after the pitch slowly dries up.

Summer is currently going on in Southampton. Sunil Gavaskar said, “It has been scorching heat in Southampton for the last few days. In such a situation, the pitch will be dry and will help the spinners so both Ashwin and Jadeja can play.

Jadeja and Ashwin have done well with the bat in the last few years. The former captain said, “Ashwin and Jadeja also give depth to the batting and bring balance to the bowling. In the subsequent series against England, a lot will depend on the weather and the pitch.

Gavaskar has praised R Ashwin fiercely. The former veteran said, “Ashwin has almost every quality of an off-spin bowler and he has also added a flicker or carrom ball to it which is really fantastic.”

Monty Panesar has also supported Jadeja and Ashwin

Former England spinner Monty Panesar has also backed Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin to play together in the WTC final against New Zealand. Panesar also believes that due to the heat in Southampton, spin bowlers can prove to be effective. Panesar, however, expects Jadeja to be more effective than Ashwin.

Let us tell you that on the Australia tour, Team India’s bet of keeping Jadeja and Ashwin together in the playing 11 proved to be right. However, due to Jadeja’s injury, the pair of both players broke up in the Test series against England.
