Grenoble-Paris FC, Le Havre-Guingamp, Caen-Rodez, Toulouse-Ajaccio … Amazon will begin its lease as a French football broadcaster on July 24 with a Ligue 2 multiplex, according to the League’s programming unveiled on Wednesday.
The 2021-22 season of L2 will launch at 3:00 p.m. on July 24 with Bastia-Nîmes on beIN Sports, before an eight-match multiplex broadcast on Amazon Prime Video at 7:00 p.m.
These matches will mark the entry of the e-commerce giant’s platform into the dissemination of French football. This was chosen by the Professional Football League (LFP) to broadcast 80% of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, against 250 million euros over the period 2021-2024. The Ligue 1 season will start two weeks later, the weekend of August 8.
