new Delhi. The market capitalization (market cap) of five of the top 10 companies of the Sensex has dropped by Rs 1,07,160 crore in the past week. Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) suffered the most. The market cap of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Hindustan Unilever, Infosys and ICICI Bank has also decreased during this period. But the market cap of HDFC Bank, HDFC Limited, Bajaj Finance and Bharti Airtel has increased.
RIL’s market cap declined by Rs 69,378.51 crore to Rs 12,84,246.18 crore in the week under review. Similarly, TCS ‘market cap fell by Rs 4,165.14 crore to Rs 9,97,984.24 crore and Hindustan Unilever’s market cap fell by Rs 16,211.94 crore to Rs 4,98,011.94 crore. Similarly, the market cap of Infosys declined by Rs 12,948.61 crore to Rs 4,69,834.44 crore, while ICICI Bank’s market cap declined by Rs 4,455.8 crore to Rs 3,33,315.58 crore.
On the other hand, HDFC Bank’s market capitalization rose by Rs 18,827.94 crore to Rs 7,72,853.69 crore. HDFC’s market cap increased by Rs 3,938.48 crore to Rs 4,19,699.86 crore. Kotak Mahindra Bank’s market cap jumped by Rs 23,445.93 crore to Rs 3,73,947.2 crore. Also, the market cap of Bajaj Finance increased by Rs 20,747.08 crore to Rs 2,84,285.64 crore and Bharti Airtel’s market capitalization increased by Rs 1,145.67 crore to Rs 2,63,776.2 crore.
Despite this, RIL managed to top the list of the top 10 companies of the Sensex. This was followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Hindustan Unilever, Infosys, HDFC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance and Bharti Airtel respectively. However, the 30-share BSE Sensex gained 439.25 points or 1.01 per cent in the previous week.
