As per the new report, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has now become the leading cloud services provider with 32 percent market share, with cloud infrastructure services spending up 35 percent to $ 41.8 billion in the first quarter. Microsoft Edge has gained 19 percent market share in Q1 2021, growing by 50 percent in the third consecutive quarter.
According to a report by market research firm Canalys, Google Cloud reported 56 percent growth in the latest quarter to 7 percent market share, up from 56 percent.
The trend of using cloud services for data analytics and machine learning, data center consolidation, application migration, cloud native development and service delivery continues.
Overall, customer spending exceeded $ 40 billion in Q1 for the first time, with total spending nearly $ 11 billion higher than Q1 2020 and nearly $ 2 billion higher than Q4 2020.
Canalis research analyst Blake Maury said that Cloud emerged as a winner in all areas over the past year, basically since the introduction of the covid epidemic and the implementation of the lockdown. Organizations relied on digital services and were online to maintain operations and adapt to the unfolding situation.
