New Delhi. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) extended the deadline for linking PAN with biometric ID Aadhaar late on Friday night. Now PAN can be linked with Aadhaar till March 31, 2022. In this way, in view of the difficulties faced by people in linking PAN with Aadhaar, they have got another six months for this.
In a statement issued late night, the Central Board of Direct Taxes said that the deadline for linking PAN with Aadhaar has been extended keeping in view the problems being faced by the people due to the Kovid-19 epidemic. In this way it will be easy to comply with this requirement. Significantly, this deadline was ending on September 30, 2021.

The CBDT said that the deadline for intimation of Aadhaar number to the Income Tax Department for linking PAN with Aadhaar has been extended from September 30, 2021 to March 31, 2022.

Along with this, the last date for completion of penalty proceedings under the Income Tax Act has also been extended from September 30, 2021 to March 31, 2022. In addition, the deadline for issuing notices and passing orders of the Adjudicating Authority under the Prevention of Benami Property Transactions Act, 1988 has also been extended up to March 2022.
