No revision in petrol and diesel prices, OMC is exploring options

New Delhi. Fuel prices in the country remained unchanged on Monday as oil marketing companies have decided to wait and watch the current situation in the global oil markets for some more time before starting daily revisions in petrol and diesel prices. Sources indicated that price revisions could begin anytime as oil companies raised ATF prices by 6.7 percent earlier this month. However, whether petrol and diesel prices will go up or down will depend on the actual average global price in the last fortnight of March.

With no price change on Monday, petrol and diesel pump prices remained at Rs 90.40 per liter and Rs 80.73 per liter in Delhi. This is the 18 consecutive days when fuel prices have not been revised.

Earlier, the prices of petrol and diesel had increased 26 times in 2021, so far this year, both auto fuel has increased by Rs 7.46 and Rs 7.60 per liter.

With global crude oil prices exceeding $ 66 a barrel, OMCs may see fuel prices improve again if a more robust alternative is found.
