Till now people could shop only by visiting Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) stores, but now KVIC has started a portal to sell its products, looking at the convenience of its customers. You can now choose the product of your choice by visiting the portal of K and can also order it sitting at home. Along with Khadi, ready-made products will also be available for sale on this portal. On ‘e-KhadiIndia.com’, more than 50 thousand locally made Khadi and Village Industries products of more than 500 varieties will be found.
MSME Secretary AK Sharma said during the launch of the trial of the portal that this portal will cater to the needs of customers and supply them products at their doorstep. He added, “For the last few months we have been working in every direction to meet the challenges of Kovid-19. This portal of KVIC is also the result of our continuous work in this direction.”
KVIC Chairman Vinay Kumar Saxena said that the portal is the first government online shopping platform of its kind to boost the rural economy and make them self-reliant. He said, “There has been a steady increase in demand for Khadi and Village Industries products in the last few years. Only 25% growth has been seen in 2018-19. These include clothes, groceries, cosmetics, home decor items, health and wellness products to gifts.
