New Delhi: After the postponement of IPL 2021, Australian bowler Pat Cummins has made a big statement about the T20 World Cup in India. Fast bowler Cummins says that T20 World Cup should be organized in India only when the country is not struggling with lack of resources to fight Corona. Cummins told The Age, "It is too early to say anything about this. There are six months left in it. The cricket administration should think about what is better for the people of India by working with the Government of India and it should be given priority."
Cummins was playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL but he recently returned from India after the tournament was postponed due to Corona. He did well in the IPL with bat and ball. But the performance of Kolkata Knight Riders’ team was nothing special this season. They said, "If the country is struggling with lack of resources or it is not safe to stay here then I do not think it would be right to play here. This is the first question that needs to be answered."
Please tell that the T20 World Cup is to be held in India in October-November this year. But in view of the increasing cases of Corona, this discussion has gained momentum that the tournament can be held outside the country.
Playing IPL was a right call – Cummins
Pat Cummins said that playing IPL was a right decision. He said that playing in the 14th season of IPL was indeed the right call. Cummins said that even though some people in Australia protested that the IPL should not go on in the midst of the Kovid-19 crisis in India. But people in India were appreciating the fact that they would get to watch the IPL every night for three or four hours.
