India vs West Indies 2nd T20: West Indies had to face defeat again in the second match of the T20 series played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. India had scored 186 runs for five wickets in 20 overs after playing first. In response, the West Indies team could only manage 178 runs for three wickets in the allotted overs. For West Indies, Rovman Powell made an unbeaten 68 in just 36 balls and Nicholas Pooran played an explosive innings of 62 runs in 41 balls. However, both of them could not lead their team to victory, and the Windies had to face defeat by eight runs.
Windies got off to a very slow start
Chasing the target of 187 runs from India, West Indies got off to a very slow start. West Indies lost their first wicket at the score of 34 runs in the sixth over. Kyle Meyers returned to the pavilion after scoring 9 runs in 10 balls. After this Brandon King continued to struggle. He scored 22 runs in 30 balls.
37 runs to be made in the last 18 balls
Rovman Powell and Nicholas Pooran shared a 100-run partnership after two wickets fell for 59 runs in 8.3 overs. In the last three overs, West Indies had to score only 37 runs to win. But then Harshal Patel bowled an eight-run over. Now West Indies had to score 29 runs in 12 balls. In such a situation, Puran lost his wicket in the pursuit of playing a big shot.
Nicholas Pooran scored 62 runs in 41 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes. At the same time, Powell returned unbeaten on 68 runs in 36 balls. He hit four fours and five sixes. However, both of them could not make their team win.
Ravi Bishnoi and Yuzvendra Chahal were excellent in bowling for India. Bishnoi took one wicket for 30 runs in his four overs, while Chahal took one wicket for 31 runs in his quota overs. At the same time, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took one wicket for 29 runs in four overs.
Kohli and Pant hit half-centuries
