RCB vs LSG: The victory was in the hands of Lucknow, the match turned like this in the last three overs


LSG vs RCB: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Eliminator match of IPL 2022. By the 17th over of the second innings of this thrilling match, the victory of LSG was almost certain, but the bowlers of RCB completely changed the condition and direction of the match in the last three overs.

Lucknow needed 41 runs in 18 balls
Chasing the target of 208 runs, Lucknow’s team needed 41 runs in the last three overs to win and had 7 wickets in hand. Captain KL Rahul (77) was frozen at the crease. In such a situation, the victory of Lucknow was visible. Here RCB’s Harshal Patel came to bowl the 18th over. Harshal bowled the first two balls wide, out of which four runs were also found on one. In this way, Lucknow had got 6 runs without any ball. Now LSG needed 35 runs off 18 balls. From here Harshal made a comeback and took out the first two balls and got Stoinis caught out on the third ball. Harshal did not stop here, even in the next three balls, he gave only 2 single runs. In this way only 8 runs came in this over and one wicket also fell.

19th over: 9 runs, 2 wickets
Now LSG had to score 33 runs in 12 balls to win. Jose Hazlewood comes in to bowl. The first ball was a dot. The second ball was wide. After that he gave one run. Here Hazlewood bowled two more deliveries, but after that he took two big wickets in the next two balls and showed RCB the way to victory. He got KL Rahul out on the fourth ball of his over and then sent Krunal Pandya to the pavilion on the fifth ball. On the last ball of the over, Chamira hit him for a four, but overall in this over, taking 2 wickets for just 9 runs, he almost decided the victory of RCB.

LSG had to score 24 runs in the last over
Harshal Patel was doing the last over of the match. Lewis could take just one run off his first ball. After this Harshal threw wide and then took out the next ball empty. Now 22 runs were needed off four balls. Here Chamira kept the hope of victory for RCB by hitting a six off the next ball but Harshal again gave only one run on the fourth ball and thus Lucknow’s defeat was confirmed here. Lucknow’s batsmen were able to score only one run on the last two balls and RCB won the match by 14 runs.
