new Delhi. Maruti Suzuki, a well-known automobile company in the world, has informed on Monday that their company has sold 18,539 cars in May this year. Thus, a total of 13,865 units have been sold in the domestic market and 23 units from other OEMs.
“The company began its production process at Manesar from May 12 and at Gurugram from May 18, strictly following government guidelines following the lockdown,” the company said in a statement.
It further added, “Production has also started at Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited (SMG) from May 25, 2020. SMG manufactures cars for Maruti Suzuki on contract basis.”
According to the statement, “the company exported 4,651 units after resuming operations at Mundra and Mumbai ports while ensuring that all the guidelines for safety are being followed.”
“Similarly, the company’s showrooms were opened in various cities in a hierarchical manner as per the guidelines of the Central and State Government,” the statement said.
It further stated, “Over time the rest of the showrooms will also be opened, if they are not restricted under the Containment Zone or any local guidelines.” (IANS)
