Today, on Thursday, March 3, the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) Sensex closed at 55,102.68 with a loss of 366.22 points. NSE (National Stock Exchange) Nifty closed today with a loss of 107.90 points at the level of 16,498.05. Nifty fell 0.65% today against Sensex’s 0.66%.
It is to be known that today the market opened with an increase under the influence of profit-booking. The Sensex opened at 55,921.44 with a gain of 452.54 points. At the same time, Nifty opened today’s opening with a gain of 117.25 points at the level of 16,723.20. The highest and lowest levels of Nifty were at 16,768.95 and 16,442.95 respectively in today’s trade. Sensex touched a high of 55,996.62 and a low of 54,931.48 in today’s day.

Talking about the sectoral index, today’s best performing sector was Nifty Energy, while the biggest loss sector was Nifty Auto. Among the sectors, auto, capital goods and banks fell 1-2 per cent, while FMCG and realty index fell 0.5 per cent. However, metal, IT, oil and gas, power indices rose 1-2 per cent. The BSE Midcap index rose 0.6 percent and the Smallcap index rose 0.35 percent.
