Shreyas Iyer got the title of ‘Player of the Tournament’, the first Indian to do so

Team India defeated Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the third T20 match in Dharamsala to take the series 3-0. Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer was adjudged ‘Player of the Series’ for this series. He was also adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for the last T20 match. Shreyas scored an unbeaten 73 while batting in the last match. Iyer also made a special record after his half-century innings in this match. He told after the match how he was batting.

Shreyas, who was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ and ‘Player of the Series’, said, “I was timing my shots very well. It feels great when you get an opportunity like this and you perform like this. There was a double pace in today’s wicket. I have made a good comeback after the injury. This journey was not that easy, for me the most special innings in this series was the innings played in the second T20.

Shreyas scored an unbeaten 73 runs from 45 balls with the help of 9 fours and a six in the third T20 match. Whereas in the second T20, he scored an unbeaten 74 off 44 balls. Shreyas hit 6 fours and 4 sixes in this innings. This talented batsman also played a brilliant innings in the Lucknow T20. Shreyas scored an unbeaten 57 off 28 balls.

Iyer made a special record in this series. He has become the first batsman to score more than 200 runs for India in T20 International series. He has scored 204 runs in three matches with the help of 3 half-centuries.
