Today, at the time of closing bell of Wednesday 9 March, the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) Sensex had gained 1,223.24 points at the level of 54,647.33. NSE (National Stock Exchange) Nifty closed today with a gain of 331.90 points at the level of 16,345.35. Sensex gained 2.29% in today’s day, beating against Nifty’s gain of 2.07%. Today about 2585 shares have risen, 681 shares have declined and 90 shares have remained unchanged.

It is to be known that today the market was trading at a positive level throughout the day. The Sensex had opened today with a gain of 369.90 points at 53,793.99. Today’s opening in Nifty was at 16,013.45 with a gain of 64.55 points. The Sensex’s high and low levels stood at 54,893.73 and 53,367.52 respectively throughout the day. Nifty touched a high of 16,418.05 and a low of 15,990 in today’s trade.
Talking about Sectoral Index, today’s best performing sector was Nifty Auto and the worst performing sector was Nifty Metal. Barring metals, all other sectoral indices ended in the green with capital goods, auto and realty indices rising 2-3 per cent. BSE smallcap and midcap indices rose 2-2 per cent each.
