Mumbai. Counting is going on for the elections held in 5 states today. In the counting of votes, BJP is clearly seen winning in 4 out of 5 states. This trend has been welcomed with a lot of heart by the Indian stock market. Although the market was gaining momentum for the last two days, but today’s election results intensified.

Today, at the time of closing on March 10, the Sensex of 30 top companies of BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) climbed 817.06 points to reach 55,464.39 level. At the same time, NSE (National Stock Exchange) Nifty closed today with a gain of 249.55 points at 16,594.90. Nifty gained 1.53% in today’s trade against one and a half percent of Sensex.
Talking about the opening of today (Stock market today), today there was a bumper opening with an edge, where Nifty opened at 16,757.10 with a gain of 411.75 points. The Sensex had opened today’s opening with a gain of 1595.14 points at the level of 56,242.47. For today’s day, the highest and lowest levels of the Sensex were 56,242.47 (opening) and 54,982.82 respectively. Today’s low level in Nifty was 16,447.90 and high level was 16,757.30.

In the sectoral index today (Stock market today), the biggest gainer sector was Nifty FMCG and the worst-hit sector was Nifty IT. Auto, Metal, FMCG, Power, Capital Goods, PSU Bank and Realty indices all closed in the green with gains of 1-2 per cent. The BSE Smallcap and Midcap indices rose 1-1 per cent each.
Today (Stock market today) about 2346 shares have risen, 937 shares have declined and 94 shares have remained unchanged. Top 5 gainer stocks in Nifty today are HUL, Tata Steel, Grasim Industries, JSW Steel and SBI. Today’s top 5 loser stocks are- Coal India, Tech Mahindra, Dr Reddy’s Labs, ONGC and TCS.
