Team India beat Sri Lanka by 62 runs in the first T20 to take lead in the series

India defeated Sri Lanka by 62 runs in the first T20 played at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. With this, Team India took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. India had scored 199 for two in 20 overs after playing the first. In response, Sri Lanka’s team could only score 137 runs for six wickets in the allotted overs.

In batting for India, Ishan Kishan scored the highest 89 and Shreyas Iyer scored 57 not out. In the bowling, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Venkatesh Iyer took two wickets each. At the same time, Charith Asalanka played an unbeaten 53 runs for Sri Lanka, but he could not get his team to win.

Bharan had given a target of 200 runs

Team India had given a target of 200 runs to Sri Lanka after playing first. Chasing the huge target from India, the start of the visiting team did not go well. Pathum Nisanka got out on the very first ball. After this the Sri Lankan team could not recover and lost wickets at regular intervals.

During this, Janith Liyanage 11, Kamal Mishara 13 and Dinesh Chandimal got out after scoring 10 runs. Although, Charith Asalanka stood at one end, but he could not get his team to win.

Asalanka scored 53 not out in 47 balls with the help of five fours. At the same time, Dusan Shanaka could only score three runs. In the end, Chamika Karunaratne scored 21 runs in 14 balls and Dushmantha Chameera scored 24 runs in 14 balls. But both of them could only reduce the margin of defeat for their team.

For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets for 9 runs in two overs. On the other hand, Venkatesh Iyer took two wickets for 36 runs in 3 overs. Apart from this, Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravindra Jadeja got one success each.
