The England and Wales Cricket Board has informed that the match will be extended by two days. The ECB has made it clear that if the match does not start on Sunday, it will be considered canceled.
The ECB issued a statement saying, “In view of the current situation, the game of the first two days of the Manchester Test is postponed. Now the match will start on Sunday. The entire matter has been monitored by the boards of both the countries. If the match does not start on Sunday, it will be considered as cancelled.
Earlier, Indian cricketer and Dinesh Karthik, who appeared in the role of commentator during this series, had informed about the postponement of the first day of the match. Dinesh Karthik tweeted, “There is no chance of the first day’s play at Old Trafford.
BCCI can also issue statement
Actually, on Thursday, the corona virus report of Team India’s assistant physio came positive. After this the training of all the players was canceled and the players were asked to stay in their hotel rooms. However, the corona virus test report of all the players of Team India came out late on Thursday night itself.
Since the corona report of any player was not found positive, the chances of the match having increased significantly. Now with the statement of the ECB, the deepening crisis on the Manchester Test has increased even more. The situation regarding the match can be cleared after any statement from BCCI comes out.
