TVS Motor Company has launched BS6 compliant version of Apache 160 motorcycle in India. This new model has been launched at a starting price of Rs 93500. It is Rs 6000 more expensive than the outgoing variant. In addition to the engine upgrade, the 2020 RTR 160 also has minor cosmetic updates in the form of new graphics.
Outgoing models such as the new TVS Apache RTR 160 have a double cradle frame. It has features like semi-faired sporty design with dual tone body color, a slately stepped up seat and split grab rail. Also, new graphics work, angular looking fuel tank extensions, blacked out alloy wheels add to its sporty stance.
To power the TVS Apache RTR 160, the BS6 compliant is a 159.7 cc single cylinder fuel injected engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The updated unit produces 15.5 Bhp of power and 13.9 Nm of peak torque. This figure is marginally higher than the BS4 version. Looking at the safety department of the new TVS Apache RTR 160, it is equipped with disc brakes on the front wheel, disc-drum brakes on the rear wheels and single channel ABS to avoid skidding during braking.
