UP Yoddha reached the playoffs after defeating U Mumba in a thrilling match

Pro Kabaddi League Season 8, UP Yoddha vs U Mumba: UP Yoddha defeated U Mumba 35-28 in the 124th match of Pro Kabaddi League season 8 at Sheraton Grand Whitefield in Bengaluru on Thursday. With this win, UP Yoddha has confirmed its place in the playoffs. In this match, the defenders of both the teams dominated and Rinku completed the high-5. Harender Kumar got four tackle points, while Sumit Sangwan, Ashu Singh and Shubham Kumar made 3 tackles for UP. With this win, UP has 68 points and has become the second team after Patna to reach the playoffs.

UP Yoddha took the lead in the first half

UP Yoddha won the toss and invited U Mumba to raid first. Abhishek Singh made the first raid but could not score points. Record breaker Pardeep Narwal opened the team’s account with Super Raid and expressed the team’s intentions. V Ajith Kumar was tackled by Sumit Sangwal to take a 4-0 lead. Abhishek got the point due to Sumit’s mistake and he gave the first point to Mumba.

After this Pardeep continued to score points, then Ajit Kumar was not allowing Mumba to lag behind. Surender Gill got his first point in the match by dismissing Rahul Sethpal. After this, Surender and Pardeep together brought U Mumba close to all out. Harender Kumar and Rinku together saved their all-out by super tackles Pardeep. UP took an 18-12 lead after getting Mumba all out in the last minute of the first off.

Gill changed the course of the match in the second half

Surender Gill was dismissed in the Do or Die raid and got the first point of the match in the second half, while on the other hand, UP got Pardeep back on the match by dismissing Ajit. After this, Mumba made the score 19-17 with three consecutive points. Shrikant Jadhav was tackled by U Mumba and UP was all out and Rinku completed his high-5. Surender Gill did a super raid and took UP ahead 24-21.

Pardeep Narwal was tackled by Rahul Sethpal to level the score at 25-25. Both the teams were showing great game and neither one was able to progress much. Srikanth’s excellent raid and Ajit was dismissed by UP’s defense to take a three-point lead. In the last raid, Surender Gill all-out U Mumba and took UP Yoddha to the playoffs.
