Virat Kohli may withdraw from last two Tests on Australia tour, this is the reason

Team India, headed by Virat Kohli, will leave for Australia tour this month. On the Australian tour, the Indian cricket team has to play three ODIs, three Twenty-Twenty and four Test matches. But such information has come out that Virat Kohli can withdraw from the last two Tests played against Australia as he is going to be a father in January.

Kohli’s wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is going to give birth to her first child in January. The board has not yet released any official statement on Kohli’s absence from playing two Tests. A BCCI source said that it is expected that Kohli can take a break after the first two Tests of the series starting on 17 December.

This senior officer said, “BCCI has always believed that family is a priority. In this case, if the captain decides to take a paternity leave, he will be available for the first two Tests.

Rahul can get a place

The BCCI has encouraged cricketers to take paternity leave for the past several years and it will be no different for the captain and best batsman of India. The source said, “He could have returned after the birth of the child in normal condition, in which case he would have been out of the team for a test. However, it will be difficult to return to the team again during the 14-day separation due to Kovid-19. In such a situation, Lokesh Rahul can get a chance in the middle order.

The matches of this series of four Test matches will be held in Adelaide (day and night, 17 to 21 December), Melbourne (26 to 30 December), Sydney (7 to 11 January 2021) and Brisbane (15 to 19 January).

There is a possibility that Rohit Sharma will be fully fit before the Test series. Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw are present as openers in the team, in such a situation, the team will lack Kohli in the middle order. The BCCI may also send Rohit along with the Indian team on a tour of Australia on 11 November.
